If you do not write the fills down, the timeline will remember your winners and you will remember nothing.
Track the ugly ones too
A notebook, a spreadsheet, or a wallet tracker. Record the mint, the entry, the size, the exit, and one sentence on why.
What to count
- Realized only. Unrealized PnL is a mood.
- Fees and tips. Priority fees and bribes are part of the loss.
- The result in R, or in percent of bankroll, not just dollars. A 3x on a tiny clip is not the same skill as a 3x on a size you repeat.
Review once a week
Look for the repeated mistake, not the funniest ticker. Most blown accounts have one pattern: no stop, too big, or adding to losers. Finding yours is worth more than another indicator.
