A round trip to zero after a 4x is not a badge. It is a missed sell button.
Sell into strength
The chart will not tap you on the shoulder at the top. Scale out while buyers are still there.
One way to stage it
- Sell a first clip around the first level that would make the trade worth having taken, even if it dies after.
- Sell a second clip when the move starts looking crowded.
- Leave a remainder only if you can watch it go to zero without revenge trading.
Auto-sell is a tool, not a personality
Take-profit and stop-loss orders fail when fees are too low to land, or when you set them so tight that noise fills them. Check that the order is actually on, and do not cancel it because a candle looks brave.
Round-tripping a winner is the most expensive hobby on this chain.
