Risk and position size
The only number that matters before the ticker is how much of the bankroll dies if the mint dies.
Start from the loss
Decide the dollar amount you can lose on this idea without changing your week. That number is the position, not the amount you hope to make.
A simple rule
- Sizing a fresh launch like a long-term hold is how people donate.
- One percent of the bankroll is already a real bet on a coin with a chart.
- Half a percent is plenty when the pool is minutes old.
- If you need the trade to pay rent, you cannot read it honestly.
Write it down first
Before you buy, write the size, the invalidation, and the first scale-out. If you cannot say those three sentences, you are clicking, not trading.
